FOCAL POINT

FOCAL POINT

A picture is worth a thousand words, as the old saying goes. It refers to the notion that a complex idea can be conveyed with just a single still image. When applied to taking photos, it aptly characterizes one of the main goals of visualization. Photography is widely recognized as a fine art and in smaller circles poetically described as "drawing with light". In the right hands, that camera can easily be turned into a brush while the world beyond the lens acts as the canvas.

Aris Jerome has always had a knack for visual expression. For him it is more than just taking a snapshot or crystallizing memories, it is about capturing a moment and conveying an emotion. It is this very approach to his craft that has turned Aris into one of the most sought after photographers in Southern California.

While still a teenager in the Bay Area, Aris found a liking to digital media and began to make a name for himself by working on music videos for emerging talent. But it wasn't until he moved down to the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles that he met some photographers and was introduced to some models that he decided to dabble in photography. The rest is history.

Selena Gomez and Zendaya are among the marquee names already under his belt. "I'm really proud of the Selena shoot because it proved I can shoot a celebrity at the same caliber of more commercial photographers," Aris said. Most recently, his photo shoot with Karrueche ended up being featured on televisions pop culture channel VH1.

Aside from his rising accolades, Aris is also the in-house photographer of (drum roll, please...) Noble Timepieces. He embodies the very things we stand for as a company: pursuing your dreams, directing your ambitions, and seizing the opportunity. But for Aris it doesn't stop there. "I want to take my career to the big screen," Aris goes on to say. "I want to direct feature films but always have photography there as an outlet for quick creative ideas."

Who's to say what the future holds? All we can do is strive for greatness and never sell ourselves short. It worked for Aris Jerome and he's showing no signs of slowing down.
